There are many fires burning across our state and others.  Today, I learned that 3 firefighters were killed battling a blaze near Twisp, WA.  Residents are evacuated there and in many other areas around our state.  The Okanogan County Sheriff described the fire zone as a “hellstorm.”  I would like to add my prayers to the many already being said for the safety of the firefighters and other responders.  Please,  Lord keep them safe, guide them, and bring them wisdom and relief as they fight these horrific fires.  May You bring peace to the families of those who were lost, those who gave their lives trying to protect the lives of others.  God, please keep residents in Your care and surround them, and their homes, with protection.  God, we pray You put these fires down.  We put our trust and hope in You.

Please add your own prayers for all of these people in whatever way you choose.  I have friends there, in the middle of this, as so many of us do, as well as many friends who fight fires each and every day.  Their daily gift of skill and sacrifice never fails to leave me in awe.
